Foundation Industries Ventures (FIVe) was established in early 2024 to support and enable sustainable, innovative growth for start-ups and spinouts in the Foundation Industries

That's the six key industries of cement, metals, chemicals, paper, ceramics, and glass that contribute over £67bn to the UK economy and employ over 250,000 people.

But as the UK strives to achieve net zero, business as usual is no longer an option for these energy intensive industries that generate 10% of the UK's annual carbon emissions.

That's why we've created FIVe to inspire innovation across these carbon intensive industries that are traditionally process heavy, risk averse and face high barriers to entry due to capital costs and regulation.

The commercialisation of hard-tech is vital to secure the UK's position as a global innovator in science and technology, underpinning economic growth and create sustainable supply chains.

We're creating vibrant, collaborative, environments for innovators with world changing ideas that could innovate these industries.

Our team has worked in the FIs for many years, and we feel it's time to shake things up.

We provide wrap-around support from refining concepts and honing value propositions, to providing connections into investors and industry with access to state-of-the-art equipment across scale-up centres across the UK.

We also support with essential services for growth including IP management, training and marketing.
